Day 2 of Insanity
This morning we were up before 6am. Now when I was in High School I was always up before 6am. I would go for a 3 mile run in the morning. It was always so nice because it was cool and no one was on the road. Well this morning was not similar to my high school days. In fact it was pretty much the opposite. Thankfully Chris got up so I had to get up. We drove separately to the Y and the whole drive there I felt like I was on another planet (this could be explained by the meds I took the night before for my 3 week cough that I have self-diagnosed as walking pneumonia. Regardless, we made it there and set up the computer and got going. Today's DVD was slightly different than yesterdays which was nice because I felt like I was using different muscles (which is good). Chris had to leave early and I was supposed to stay and do some extra cardio. Yep definitely packed up the computer and came straight home. Thought that I had done enough. :)

Insanity Day 1
So today we did our first actual workout video from Insanity and it was awesome. It was the perfect challenge. I definitely have room to improve but it was completely out of my league. The only annoying thing was that the step class came in 15 minutes before the class started so while we were working out and they kind of ruined it. This lady was like wow my area over here is really wet. And another lady was like wow this floor is really dirty. Really people. Really.

Cough Syrup
I just had cough syrup. I am so grossed out that I have a headache. I hate cough syrup but it was the only way out. I can't believe I just had cough syrup. It is gross.
Day 1: Fit Test
So our Insanity began today. We took our pre-photos (some of us more willing than others), got in the car adn headed to the Y. THe one thing that Shaun T emphasizes in the dvds is that insanity can be done in the time it takes to get to the gym. I disagreed with him since our gym is 6.2 miles away from our house. HOWEVER today I was proven wrong. Problem #1 was that I let Chris drive. Chris is a very good cautious driver who follows the speed limit and slows when he sees a yellow light. I on the other hand am a defensive and offensive driver. I defend my driving and speak offensive words to other drivers. Well anyways it ended up taking us 20 minutes to get to the Y which was absolutely ridiculous because they had closed 610 (who does that) and everyone and their brother was taking the self-guided detour. Regardless we made it to the Y to begin our "fit test." We set up in an empty aerobics room, plugged in the computer and got the DVD running. I was panting during the warm-up however there was someone worse off then me. The computer! It decided it was time to install automatic updates. Of course just when we get started and are trying to stick with something it decides that it wants to close down. Well despite its annoyance we were able to move through the fit test only pausing at the last 2 exercises to restart the computer!!! Here are our results:
1st Fit Test
Switch Kicks: S - 107, C - 121
Power Jacks: S - 52, C - 51
Power Knees: S - 100, C - 107
Power Jumps: S - 37, C - 31
Globe Jumps: S - 7, C - 9
Suicide Jumps: S - 15, C - 13
Push-Up Jacks: S - 20, C - 27
Low Plank Obliques: S - 50, C - 45
We then went home and made shrimp and crab nachos and sat on the couch. I am hoping to see progress but then of course we all know that I am very optimistic!

So as the title of my blog reads (life.fast) so has been our life for the past couple months. I am not sure how people actually have time to blog/tweet/anything else as well as why they would want to write more after a day's work. But here I am after editing a proposal ALL day long. Also it probably has to do with the fact that nothing interesting has happened in the past couple months...well nothing blog worthy that is. My mom came down to visit which was great and we all (minus the animals) went on a mini night trip to Brenham, Round Top, and Lost Pines. Chris and I got to finally float down the lazy river at the resort which we have wanted to do every since Chris first took me there. We had been very excited about going back for the nachos (because the past two trips they were unbelievable) however sad to say they were not okay. And it just reaffirmed the fact why people shouldn't eat those kinds of foods. Round Top was fine - antique fairs are not my cup of tea but we did manage to find a small cabinet which is now in the office/guest bedroom. Easter came and went. We did not do anything too special aside from hiding Skittles for each other basically in the same places. Last weekend was State Cup for my women's team and surprisingly we won which might be the first state cup I have ever won. I was trying to remember when I played select if we ever won but I think we only ever came in second. Anyways Ouisie came up with Chris and I on Saturday which was great because she had never taken such a long car ride since she was driven here from Dallas when we first got her and she did wonderfully which makes me hope that Chris will concede and let me take her with us to Alabama for Regionals over Memorial Day weekend!
As for the previous post about the infomercial - our Insanity DVDs came yesterday so we will be starting the program soooon. I just need to get better (cold) and my hamstring needs to heal (state cup). Hopefully we will be taking the fit test this weekend. Maybe then I will have something to blog about!

Insanity
Today, Chris and I were sucked into an infomercial. It seemed innocent at first but for some reason we both got hooked. So I went on ebay and purchased Insanity. We are now anxiously awaiting its arrival. Body Makeovers are about to begin!
